HUGE WAVES AT HIGH TIDE occurred in La Jolla a few weeks ago. Of course, the sea lions aren’t fazed by giant waves, but still space on the rocks was at a premium.
SEA LIONS discuss everything, however, some of the little ones were just busy yawning and hoping for a nap.
& some sea lion pups were just busy having lunch.
The 500 to 800 pound male sea lions always seem to require more room to rest.
Mostly though it seems the sea lions enjoy swimming in the big waves as much as I enjoy watching them break over and over again on the bluffs in a spectacular show of energy and form.
& at the end of the day when the tide changes from high tide to low tide, the waves subside and there is time to relax and rest, one realizes that this is life in perfect balance, a yin & yang. I go home with no worries. The tide must have swept them away.
