2014 ART JOURNAL – AN ARTIST’S LIFE BY-THE-SEA
The California Brown Pelicans squadrons arrive flying into La Jolla Cove. Hundreds of these ancient & sacred birds landing for a stopover on their way to the Pelican nesting site at the Coronado Islands in Mexico.
I’m no bird expert, but these pelicans looked very much like they were courting & nesting.
I thought they were doing a duet together. I didn’t know Pelicans could dance.
After the dance ended, they had a conversation, handed small branches to each other and touched their heads to each other.
It was very sweet.
It’s like looking in a mirror. I see you & I see myself, too. This must be Pelican love.
