SAN DIEGO SEA SHELLS DRYING ON A PRETTY TRAY

Sea shells on tray 9-2014 WATERMARK

SEA SHELLS collected  on a few San Diego beaches washed & set out to dry on a tray.  I like how the metal tray really frames the shells.  This was a great collecting day.   The find of the day for me was the almost 4 inch long white cone shell.  I’ve never found one of those before!

2nd row down from the top- right side – A fossil clam shell.

2nd row up from the bottom – A collection of Sunset clam shells & “butterfly” Chiton shells.

After I wash all the shells, it’s time to put aside my favorites to sketch & watercolor in my art journals.  Such lovely inspiration for an artist by-the-sea.
