JUST ANOTHER DAY WITH THE HARBOR SEALS – Watching the harbor seals sleeping peacefully, waking a bit stretching, itching & yawning. Showing little pink tongues that belie the mouthful of canine-like teeth behind their cuteness. Without even needing binoculars, I see a migrating gray whale in the distance blow & take a deep dive showing it’s tail flukes. Pelicans fly by with one cormorant in their midst. A lone pelican follows trying to catch up. I breathe. A fishing boat with a gill net hangs it’s dive-in-progress flag & I wonder why a fishing boat that catches swordfish & sharks is so close to shore & what they are diving for. Time to speculate. Time to observe nature. Time to dream. Yes, dream.
