I DREAM OF VESSELS LINED UP ON A WINDOW SILL. FRAGRANT TEAS ARE SERVED TO ME. I AM FRUITFUL & FERTILE WITH IMAGINATION & HOPE. THE VESSELS FILL WITH RAIN WATER & TADPOLES GROW. WIND RATTLES MY AMBER BEADS HANGING ON A NAIL. THE VESSELS SPILL OUT INTO THE LILY POND. CARP CRY UNDER THE MOON. THE LOTUS BLOOMS & I LIGHT A CANDLE TO MY SACRED SELF. – Nancy Lee Artist By the Sea (c)2015
Handmade accordion book with watercolor illustrations & paper collage embellishments. Created in a “Paper Pattern” workshop series given by Bhavna Mehta as part of a collaboration for the inspiration of her paper art installation exhibit “Gush” at the Oceanside Art Museum. Note: I have not published all of the 18 pages in this handmade book here.
It’s that time of year again. Trader Joe’s has bouquets of Peony flowers for sale again. Keeping an illustrated art journal for each year reminds me of the cycles in my life that return again & again. Gratefulness surrounds me.
