GREAT BLUE HERON, SNOWY EGRET & GREAT WHITE EGRET – My photographs along with small illustrations of a few of my favorite shorebirds.
GREAT BLUE HERON CHICKS NEST HERE IN SAN DIEGO IN THE VERY TOP OF TORREY PINE TREES. As the chicks get their plumage in, their heads look like they have mohawks of deep cobalt blue! – Japanese brush painting in Sumi Ink with “tea” wash background. 8″ x 10″
VIBRATIONS OF LIFE – Pelican wings soaring inches above the sea, a cormorant taking off from the water in a quick-quick-quick life-up-and-away flight, a snowy egret gracefully & slowly stepping from tide pool to tide pool, snowy plovers legs running so fast they look like road runner cartoons, a motionless great blue heron’s steely gaze into the water, sand pipers tails bob-bob-bobbing as they walk , sea gulls laughing into the wind with their chicks peep-peep-peeping for yet another handout from mom, bird life by the sea. I can feel the vibrations of life, almost see the shimmer of energy all around me, surrounding me with light. The veil lifts, life is just a dream.
