A friend called me to come to her home and view a giant moth resting on a leaf. The trumpet flowers were blooming and one spectacular epi flower was breathtaking. I sketched the moth and she gave me this glass Bauer frog to take home. I filled the frog with Wisteria flower seed pods, which had burst open. When Wisteria seed pods heat up from the sun, they POP open sending the seeds flying and the force of the seed explosion causes the seed pod to twist into a corkscrew shape. (Before the seeds POP out, the seed pods look like giant furry pea pods.) Nature is amazing entertainment!
Peach-colored Angel’s Trumpets gently blowing in the breeze.
The temple bell stops, but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.
Angel’s Trumpets (Datura) come in different colors – white, yellow and these lovely peach colored ones. At night the air is heavy with their perfume and moths come to drink their nectar.
