BABY ARTICHOKES AT THE FARMER’S MARKET. Too beautiful to resist. When an artichoke is left on the plant it blooms into a gorgeous thistle flower! I love the pale green-gray colors of these baby artichokes. Some of them were dark forest green with maroon undertones, too. Another lesson in a nature color palette. If I had a seamstress, I would have her make me linen clothes with simple lines in artichoke colors & I could wear them with a blue & white china necklace & be a secret artichoke fairy.
FAIRY SHADOW BOXES – Fairy Shoes are attached to the top of the shadow box. (See instructions for how to make the Fairy Shoes under a separate entry.) These boxes were inspired by Fairy/Ballarina paper purchased a long time ago, which was “too special” to use. When I started making the shadow boxes, it seemed the perfect way to use my fairy paper!
ART JOURNAL 2014 – WATERCOLOR – This journal page is for the last week in March. Fairy shoes shadow boxes (more on this later), Ikebana flower arrangements to complement my two paintings in a local art show, owl painting framed for donation to a good cause & Nature’s Color Palettes, an article I’m writing for a future post.
