MARIGOLD MADNESS

MARIGOLD MADNESS – Japanese brush painting practice.  I purchases pony packs of Marigolds from the nursery  & painted studies of Marigold flowers & leaves to teach a class.  The Japanese Maple leaf vase was found in a thrift shop & is perfect for an Autumn flower arrangement.  Marigolds are such a sunny, cheerful flower!  In Mexico they are used to celebrate the Day of the Dead.  In India, Marigolds are used to make necklaces!

MARIGOLD FLOWERS – Japanese brush paintings.  I painted these Marigolds for a collage book I created about India, but I also think of Marigolds for the Day of the Dead celebration, too.

I adore Marigold flowers & it doesn’t matter whether they are miniature flowers or the gigantic African variety.  I like the smell of them & their bright cheery orange & yellow colors.   What could be finer than wearing a golden necklace made of amber-colored Marigold flowers to celebrate Autumn?
