MAY FULL FLOWER MOON!

Tonight’s full moon is the FLOWER MOON!

Each month the moon has a name, which was used to track the seasons by Native Americans and during Colonial times. Some names for May’s full moon are: the Flower Moon, Mother’s Moon, Milk Moon, and Corn Planting Moon. This moon marks a time of increasing fertility, with temperatures warm enough for safely bearing young, a near end to late frosts, and plants in bloom.
