There are now 12 sea lion pups in La Jolla, California. These pups are only a few weeks old! Sea lion mothers nurse their pups for one year. Mother’s must leave their pups alone for periods of time to go out to catch fish so they can produce breast milk to feed their pup. These marine mammals are federally protected. Remember to stay back 50 feet to respectfully observe them. These are wild marine mammals and no matter how cute they look, they can bite!
LA JOLLA IS A SEA OF WILD FLOWERS BLOOMING AFTER WINTER RAINS – Oxeye Daisies, known as field daisy, marguerite, midsummer daisy or moon flowers are blooming everywhere. The normally barren bluffs are filled with a sea of white loveliness. I carry this beauty in my heart.
